Hofner 455 model 1951-52

Constructed of curly maple wood, rosewood fingerboard, 65 cm scale.

One of the most popular mid-range models. Corresponds to the best years of production, it still has the old blade before 1953.

Few instruments of these characteristics remain, since they correspond to a period of transition.
In perfect state of conservation and fit. Revised, adjusted and with the original bronze frets, comfortable action and perfect octave!

Traditional archtop styling, but with flamed maple top and sides. The 455 was finished in a brown tobacco sunburst finish, but this was changed to a red shaded fish for a time during the 1960's. Binding to back and sides of body, but earlier guitars did not have neck binding. Initially the rhomboid headstock fascia design was used, but this was changed on later guitars to the three pearloid / tortoishell strip design. Made both with and without cutaway. Produced between 1949 & 1970.
